UV radiation environmental factors: The protective edges have been developed to resist UV radiation from the sun, but over the years UV radiation will contribute to discolouration of the protective edge. In comparison: when you apply suncream you can lie in the sun for longer without getting sunburnt, but after a while you will still burn, even after using suncream.

The trampoline is outside in all kinds of weather and has a lot to endure. Naturally, it is unavoidable that traces of use and weather effects can be seen on the product over time, but with our advice you can keep the protective edge clean and fresh for much longer.

A weather cover can be used to keep the trampoline free from leaves, twigs, dirt etc. In all situations BERG recommends to use the cover in situations where the trampoline is not used for a shorter period of time. When the trampoline is out of use for a longer period (e.g. the winter time) we recommend to take the protection cover from the trampoline, to dry is thouroughly and to store it in a dry place. The weather cover has holes for drainage thus preventing a large amount of water to stay on the trampoline. Through the holes the water can be eliminated gradually through the jump mat. The weather cover is not directly intended to keep the trampoline dry.

Usage on a Regular trampoline:
The cover is pulled over the round top frame of the trampoline (the weather cover can be installed with and without the protection padding on the trampoline). For extra firmness there a a couple of elastics with a hook attached to the protection cover of the trampoline. These elastics with hook can be pulled underneath the round top frame and be attached to the triangles (spring connection) of the jump mat

Usage on an InGround trampoline:
The cover is pulled over the round top frame of the trampoline (the weather cover can be installed with and without the protection padding on the trampoline). For extra firmness there a a couple of elastics with a hook attached to the protection cover of the trampoline, but in order to do so the pins of the frame net need to be loosened so the elastics with hooks on the weather cover can be pulled underneath the frame. These hooks of the cover can then be attached to the triangles (spring connection) of the jump mat.

Usage on Flatground trampoline:
The weather cover can only be installed if the protection cover is on the trampoline. The weather cover is pulled over the protection cover. For extra firmness the elastics with hooks of the weather cover can also be attached to the triangles (spring connection) of the jump mat.

Yes, most of the BERG Trampolines have an InGround variant. These InGround trampolines are specially designed low trampolines, which are placed in a hole in the ground. If you need help, you can refer to this page.

A Safety Net does not fit on an InGround trampoline. These trampolines are designed to be installed in the ground, so a safety net is not really necessary. A super safe trampoline is the BERG Elite+ InGround (T-series) trampoline with the Safety Net T series. This is the only InGround trampoline with a safety net. Yes. The safety net poles are attached to the frame leaving a three-centimetre space. This space is sufficient for a protective cover.

A round trampoline has an optimal ‘bounce point’. The middle of the trampoline provides the best bounce and during each bounce you are pushed back to this centre point. A rectangular trampoline has an optimal ‘bounce line’. The whole middle line over the length of the trampoline offers a good bounce, constantly pushing you back to this middle line instead of the middle point. This enables you to make very efficient use of the bounce surface. Our rectangular trampolines also have a stronger frame than our round trampolines. With a rectangular trampoline, the forces which load the frame are not equally distributed, requiring a stronger frame to absorb peak forces.

Before you can enjoy bouncing on one of our InGround or FlatGround trampolines a hole has to be dug in the garden. Weeds often grow fast in holes underneath trampolines and they will prevent you from making nice jumps.

To prevent weeds from growing underneath the trampoline, weed control (or anti-root) fabric can be placed in the hole. This fabric allows rainwater through but keeps the light out and therefore prevents roots from growing. This will considerably reduce the risk of weeds.

How does it work?

  • Weed control fabric can be bought at DIY stores, garden centres or online. The fabric is available in black or white. The black version is the best choice for preventing weeds.
  • When buying weed control fabric take the following into consideration: the heavier the fabric, the stronger it will be.
  • After you have bought the fabric it can be cut to size. If you place more than one piece of fabric in the hole it is advisable to allow it to overlap by at least 10 centimetres.
  • Once the fabric has been placed in the hole it can be fastened down by covering it with soil or stones.

Yes, that is possible. There is a clearance of three centimetres between the poles of the safety net and the trampoline frame, so there is sufficient room for a BERG Cover.

It is a fact that water is coming into the padding:

  • Partly because of rain and moist from external. Water is leaking through the stitches of the padding to the inside.
  • Partly because of condensation within the padding.

It is inconvenient that the drainage holes lead to the jump mat. Unfortunately, an alternative with the best possible drain characteristics, does not exist. Drain holes are placed at the inside of the padding, underneath. This is because this is the lowest point of the padding (the padding runs a bit towards the middle). Water always needs to be eliminated from the lowest point and in this case, falls down on the jump mat.

After a period of rain, water can accumulate inside the padding. It will take some days before all the water has disappeared. It helps when the water is lead towards the drainage holes to get rid of the largest part of the water. By doing this proactively, it will reduce the water streams during the jumping. How to lead the water towards the drain holes is a challenge and cannot be explained with a few words. Just doing it is the best.

Any water remaining in the padding will disappear by means of the “ventilation/breathing” of the padding.

Water on the jump mat is not a problem. Usually this happens with fairly new trampolines. The jump mat is to some degree water resistant. Because of that, the water is not immediately leaking through the jump mat. Over time this will improve.

Ensure good drainage, also described in the BERG installation manual (can be found on the product page), if water is remaining in the hole beneath the trampoline. This can be done in several ways and depends on the kind of soil. In many cases no action is needed and the water will sink into the ground automatically. Simple drainage on the deepest point of the hole in the shape of a cylindric hole size diameter 30-40 cm, approx. 1 meter deep, filling with gravel, will be sufficient.

Check if the size of the hole is according instructions. Are the sides too steep? Over time the sides will cave a bit.

Check if the feet of the frame are supported well.

This can happen with the Talent protection padding if this gets really wet. This is not a production failure; all BERG Paddings can get wet inside. Also the ones from the Favorit, Champion or Elite. The Talent protection cover does not come with the special water drainage system which the Favorit, Champion and Elite do offer. So, if water is running into the Talent protection padding it can take longer for it the dry again. In principle the water will leak out or evaporate automatically.

Advise to make the padding dry quicker: make sure the padding can dry in the sun, the padding can be dried with a piece of cloth or even knock out the padding a bit.
